NORTHERN CALIFORNIA REGIONALS BRACKET
The Coalinga College women's volleyball team is headed back to the postseason for the third straight year. On Tuesday, the Falcons were named the No. 13 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs. Postseason brackets were announced by the 3C2A for the both the north and south regions.
Coalinga is set to host an opening-round playoff game on Saturday (Nov. 22) at 6 p.m. and will take on No. 20-seeded Yuba College.
Ticket prices for the 3C2A postseason match are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.
Coalinga has reached the playoffs in four of the last six seasons under head coach Jeff Wanderer (2025, 2024, 2023, 2019). The Falcons enter Saturday's postseason matchup with a 15-10 overall record and finished third in the Central Valley Conference South Division with a 4-4 mark. Coalinga has won four of its last six matches heading into the playoffs.
The Falcons are one of six Central Valley Conference teams to qualify for this year's regionals.
Last season, the No. 11-seeded Falcons suffered a 3-1 loss at No. 6 Feather River College in the second round of the playoffs.
No. 20 Yuba comes into Saturday's postseason matchup with a 9-14 overall record. The 49ers ended tied for second place in the Bay Valley Conference. Yuba has a 7-3 record over its last 10 matches.
Saturday marks the first meeting of the season between Coalinga and Yuba. The winner of the contest advances to a second-round playoff match at No. 4 Monterey Peninsula College (21-2) on Tuesday (Nov. 25).
Three wins are needed by the Falcons to advance to the 2025 3C2A State Championships on Dec. 5-7 at Folsom Lake College in Folsom.
