West Hills College Coalinga women's volleyball head coach Jeff Wanderer has been selected to serve as Team Leader of the U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Anaheim and Gold Team rosters.
The CNT-Gold squad is made up of 28 current collegiate players who will train July 5-12 in Anaheim at the American Sports Centers and compete side-by-side with the U.S. Women’s National Team as it makes final preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The Gold Team staff will include head coach Chris McGown (former BYU men's volleyball head coach), assistant coaches Heather Olmstead (Head Coach of BYU), three-time Olympian Tayyiba Haneef-Park, and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Kayla Banwarth. The Anaheim roster has not yet been published.
"There's very little doubt that this is a special opportunity to be part of the U.S. Collegiate National Team Staff," Wanderer said. "It's always an honor to be brought back and to help in any way possible. I'm really looking forward to learning from the amazing coaches and Olympians Tayyiba and Kayla on staff, but to also do whatever is necessary to help the coaches and athletes."
Wanderer has worked extensively with USA Volleyball, serving as the head coach of the USA Women's Junior A1 Team and several teams dating back to 2001. In 2019, Wanderer served as Team Leader for the USA Women's National Team as they competed in the Volleyball Nations League in Lincoln, NE.
