Falcons Finish First Round 6-2

The West Hills Coalinga Volleyball Team finished the first round of Central Valley Conference play with a sweep of Porterville College on Wednesday night. The Falcons finished the first round with a 6-2 record placing them third in Central Valley Conference.

The Falcons were fueled behind 17 points from Sophomore Outside Hitter Andrea Lopez (9 Kills, 8 Aces) and 11 Kills from Freshman Opposite Hitter Madisyn Baxter. Middle Hitter Mia Bouttavong contributed at the net with 8 Kills and 2 blocks. Sophomore Middle Hitter Magali Renteria led the team in hitting efficiency with 0.500.

"We knew we were going to be in for a fight", said Coach Jeff Wanderer. "We were really lucky to get out with a win. They're a good team and we just got some runs when we needed them".

The turnaround is short for the Falocns as they begin Round 2 at the College of Sequoias on Friday night.
