Volleyball: Four Falcons Recognized By Conference

West Hills volleyball head coach Jeff Wanderer announced that four Falcons from the 2017 team earned All-Central Valley Conference honors, following coaches' annual voting in Visalia on Tuesday.

Sophomore MH Brittany Dias (Sierra Pacific HS) was selected First Team All-CVC. Dias led all CVC players with 83 total blocks and a 0.89 blocks per set average. She also led the team with 267 kills, which ranked fifth in the CVC. Her average of 2.87 kills per set ranked No. 9 overall.

Sophomore libero Sierra Allan (Hanford West) was voted Second Team All-CVC. Allen led the state with 531 digs. Her average of 5.71 digs per set ranked second in the CVC and fourth among all CCCAA players.

Allen also led the Falcons with 38 aces.

Freshmen setters Chelaine Cates (Lemoore) and Taylor Ramos (Porterville) were both selected as All-CVC honorable mentions. Both had similar statistics during their first college seasons.

Cates finished with 413 assists (4.54 aps) and Ramos had 383 (4.12 aps) - both rankind No. 8 and No. 10, respectively, in the CVC.

Ramos also recorded 195 digs (2.10 avg), 90 kills, 35 aces, and 18 blocks. Cates had 240 digs (2.64 avg), 62 kills, 31 aces, and 18 blocks.
