Falcons Host Sierra In Afternoon Kickoff

West Hills College Coalinga will host Sierra College on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Memorial Bowl Stadium in a Northern California Football Conference non-league game.

The Falcons (2-0) climbed the California Community College Football Coaches Association rankings five spots to No. 19 this week. The Wolverines (0-2) will be looking for their first win of the 2018 season.

“Each week is a new test for us, and we know all about Sierra having a strong football program, so we expect a tough, physical game,” said WHCC head coach Justin Berna.

“Watching Sierra on film - they’re as talented as any team we’ve seen. They have played two great teams, so their record doesn’t tell the whole story. Sierra will be a major player in the NorCal League.”

Sierra lost to No. 3 (North regional ranking) City College of San Francisco, 56-13, and No. 8 Modesto Junior College, 42-17.

WHCC has victories over No. 12 Diablo Valley College, 35-29, and Shasta College, 40-20.

The Falcons are ranked No. 10 in the North.
