Due to poor air quality from fires in Shasta County, the Week 2 game between No. 24 West Hills College Coalinga and Shasta College has been moved to Yuba College at 1 p.m.
Yuba College is located in Marysville, two hours south of Redding and clear from the unhealthy conditions. The scheduled season-opener in 2017 between both schools was cancelled due to fires in Shasta.
All three colleges have made necessary arrangements with the Northern California Football Conference commissioner and have game/staff officials in place.
The Falcons (1-0) are coming off a 35-29 home victory against previous Top 25 Diablo Valley - while the Shasta Knights (0-1) suffered a 27-7 opening loss to Chabot.
Both WHCC and Shasta are familiar opponents from the American Division - and were the top two programs over the last four seasons, prompting both to be elevated to the state-playoff tier National Division in 2018.
"Shasta has a great program with a great coaching staff," said WHCC head coach Justin Berna.
"They moved up to the National Division for a reason. They look good on film and lost to a Top 25 team, so they will be hungry for their first victory. We need to play smart and physical in all three phases. It's our first road trip and for most of our players, the first overnight trip. We need to handle and manage a few more things than normal. It's another big test for us."
