The successful run the for West Hills College Coalinga football continues - but its string of three consecutive seasons as a CCCAA bowl game participant comes to an end.
The Falcons did not receive a postseason invitation on Sunday, following a 6-3 season. Only four teams (Shasta, Monterey Peninsula, Merced, Los Medanos) in the American Division were selected this year.
WHCC lost to three of the four teams (by a combined 13 points), and did not face Shasta after the season-opening game was cancelled due to forest fires in Northern California.
The Falcons have plenty of reasons to celebrate another successful campaign. The team won five of its last six games - including the final three by an avarage score of 34-13.
Over the last four seasons, WHCC is 20-4 in the Golden Coast League and 33-9 overall as one of the top programs in California.
During that span, WHCC football has also compiled three league championships and a pair of bowl game victories.
